An hour after her compatriot Aubin Sparfel, France’s Célia Géry also got to cheer on the flanks of the Citadel of Namur. Géry, who was crowned European Junior Champion in early November, convincingly won the third heat of the UCI Junior World Cup.

France scored well in Namur, with two victories in the two junior events of the UCI Cyclo-Cross World Cup Namur. Even though Slovakian Viktoria Chladonova had the best start, Célia Géry never panicked and got back to Chladonova to eventually win solo.

At the finish line, Géry was 22 seconds ahead of Chladonova. As with the junior men, not only gold but also bronze went to France, this time to Amandine Muller.
In the overall World Cup standings, Célia Géry jumps to No 1. She is now 14 points ahead of Brit Cat Ferguson, fifth in Namur.
